The Music Center Screens Stage Version Of Butterell’s New Musical

The real story of Jamie Campbell, a teenage drag queen, inspired the Everybody’s Talking About Jamie stage production. There is an English documentary that captures the journey of Campbell from the end-of-year dance at his high school. On the other hand, the stage iteration of Jonathan Butterell’s musical fictionally depicts the fight of a young Campbell for self-love and acceptance. It underlines the significance of supportive friends and relatives as well as spreads its message through a vibrant theatrical performance.

Roy Haylock and Layton Williams reprise their parts from the Everybody’s Talking About Jamie West End version for its theatrical iteration. Layton Williams plays Campbell and Haylock plays Loco Chanelle in the musical, with catchy numbers from Tom MacRae and Daniel Giles Gillespie Sells.

The British iteration of the musical has an enthusiastic fan base and has won awards since its 2017 debut. A movie version of the musical was out some months ago, and Amazon Prime is streaming it now. As with almost every musical, there is a lot of energy in the real-time show.

All attendees must wear face masks and offer proof of vaccinations upon arrival, besides educational institutes or government-issued photo ID cards.
