Landmark Theaters In Los Angeles To Screen New Film Nightmare Alley

Spanish director Guillermo del Toro shot Nightmare Alley in color and lit the film in a format identical to black and white. As per the director, it has an identical design level to black and white, and the makers wished to give the audience a special vintage since Nightmare Alley  is a neo-noir film. The film stars Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett and nominee Bradley Cooper.

Critics have praised Nightmare Alley for the cinematic beauty and dark complexity of the film, which meshes palpable noir touches with lush visuals. A 35-millimeter version of Nightmare Alley in the black and white iteration promises to elevate the Classical Hollywood cinema qualities that del Toro wanted. Select theaters in Los Angeles will screen the monochrome version of this movie for a limited period. The Spanish filmmaker will attend at least one of those screenings and participate in a question and answer session.

The Landmark theater on Pico Boulevard will screen ‘Nightmare Alley: Vision In Darkness And Light’ on January 14, 2022, and the director will attend the show. Then, he is expected to come back on January 05, 2022, for the show at 05:00 pm. At 07:30 pm on January 22, 2022, Landmark’s flagship location Nuart Theatre will screen the movie with a question and answer session featuring del Toro.

Landmark Theaters are open despite Omicron concerns. Attending a screening at a Landmark location requires proof of the negative result of a coronavirus test taken 72 hours before admission or proof of vaccination and photo ID.
