Hollywood Bowl To Be A Largely Vaccinated Venue When Concerts Return

Hollywood Bowl Reopening Summer 2021

When real-time, in-person musical performances officially come back to California’s Hollywood Bowl amphitheater, vaccinated people will have almost all of the venue seats. The Hollywood Bowl’s concert lineup has been disclosed, and the venue in Los Angeles will be mostly vaccinated.

The Hollywood Bowl’s vaccination-related regulations require audience members to show full vaccination documentation like their photo IDs, plus the physical or digital versions of their COVID-19 vaccine cards.

Non-vaccinated people can sit in any one of the two Hollywood Bowl sections dedicated for them, but they will also have to show their photo IDs and negative coronavirus test documentation.

When the audience enters the amphitheater, it will also enforce mask regulations. The amphitheater will restart concerts with many special performances from the likes of Christina Aguilera, H.E.R, James Blake, plus cello player Yo-Yo Ma’s one-night return.

As the traditional performances come back to that amphitheater, the LA Phil’s CEO Chad Smith expects a beloved summertime tradition to return as well as a community created through real-time musical experiences to reunite. The Los Angeles Philharmonic is eager to welcome audience members again to the amphitheater as well as start the sort of celebration and healing that live music can offer, Smith said.

It has been announced that the first performance at the venue would be on May 15, 2021, featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Gustavo Dudamel. For your information, Dudamel is a conductor from Venezuela as well as the music director for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. That concert would be for America’s frontline workers.

After the concert, the audience can catch Kool & the Gang in action along with the Hollywood Bowl’s orchestra as they restart the yearly Firework Spectacular! event.

Herbie Hancock will do the last weekend musical performance in the summertime series on September 26, 2021, at the time of writing this. At the same time, the final scheduled concert will happen on September 28, 2021, from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Herbie Hancock is a pianist with multiple Grammy awards.

Los Angeles County is now in the so-called yellow tier under California’s reopening plan, so the amphitheater can run at about 70% of its seating capacity.
